一位有着国际声望以及丰富国际关系资源的法国数学家被邀请成为欧洲研究委员会（ERC）新主席。ERC是欧洲前沿科学的基金资助机构。在法国伊维特河畔比尔的高级科学研究所（IHES）长期担任所长的Jean-Pierre Bourguignon将接任奥地利社会学家Helga Nowotny的ERC主席职位，后者从2010年开始主持该机构。
